By creating an account or using Locus, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These terms apply to all users of locuslegal.app.
Locus is a document intelligence tool that analyzes psychological and forensic evaluations filed in legal proceedings. It provides plain-language translations, methodology reviews, and questions you can raise, to help you understand and engage with documents in your case.
Locus is not a substitute for a licensed attorney. It does not provide legal advice, predict legal outcomes, or guarantee any result in your case. The analysis it generates reflects general standards in forensic psychology and is not tailored legal counsel.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You must provide a valid email address. You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of others without their consent.
You represent that you have the legal right to upload any document you submit to Locus. You may only upload documents that you are legally permitted to possess and use. Do not upload documents you obtained unlawfully.
All uploaded documents are de-identified before analysis and are not stored on our servers. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Single document purchases are non-refundable once the analysis has been generated. Monthly and advocate subscriptions can be canceled at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access until then. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing period.
Payments are processed by Stripe. By purchasing, you authorize Stripe to charge your payment method on the terms selected.
AI-generated analysis can make errors. The methodology review and questions generated by Locus reflect general forensic psychology standards and may not capture every issue relevant to your specific case, jurisdiction, or judge. You should not rely solely on Locus output when making legal decisions. Review the analysis critically and, where possible, discuss it with an attorney.
You may not use Locus to: upload documents belonging to others without authorization; harass, threaten, or harm any person; violate any applicable law; attempt to reverse-engineer or circumvent any security measure; or use the service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it.
Locus is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that the analysis it produces will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Waypoint Clinical & Forensic Psychology and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of Locus, including any reliance on analysis generated by the service.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify users by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Travis County, Texas.
